On March 23, Consul General Zha Liyou and his wife Zheng Huiqun attended the Sino-Indian educational exchange held in Kolkata by Saraswati Online. A delegation headed by Liao Bin, Party Secretary of Southwest Medical University of China, and Partha Sarathi Ganguli, Chief Advisor of Saraswati Online, Pradip Kumar Mitra, Director of the Medical Education Department of West Bengal, Tanushree Mondal, Deputy Director of the Medical Education Department, and more than 50 people from local medical experts and scholars, as well as Indian graduates from Southwest Medical University attended the event.

In his speech, Mr Zha said that both China and India are great countries, and exchanges in the medical field between the two countries have a long history. Indian doctors such as Dwarkanath Shantaram Kotnis and Bejoy Kumar Basu promoted the spirit of internationalism and helped the Chinese people fight against Japanese aggression. We would always remember their deep friendship. He was very happy to see so many young Indian doctors who have returned from China to study and hoped that they will spread the seeds of Sino-Indian friendship and work hard to promote Sino-Indian friendship while benefiting the Indian people.

The Consul General also pointed out that compared with European and American countries, young Indian students had the advantage of geographical distance, quality of teaching, and high cost performance to study in China. He hoped that Saraswati Online would continue to deepen cooperation with Chinese universities including Southwest Medical University. The Chinese Consulate would provide assistance and work together with all sides to promote more medical and educational cooperation between Chinese provinces and Eastern India.
