On December 20th, 2008, Consul General Mao Siwei held an interactive session with students of the School of Chinese Language in Kolkata at Sunny Park.

He provided encouragement by presenting awards to deserving students. Mao also spoke about the five everyday important parts of China to understand the culture: Great Wall, Chop Sticks, Chinese Characters, Tea (Cha) and Dragon.

The School authorities also advised Consul General about the urgent need of Chinese teachers, lack of which was forcing the school to refuse aspiring persons interested in Chinese language and culture.

The Session ended with Mao's encouragement to all students –"Hao Hao Xue Xi, Tian Tian Xiang Shang", a motto popular in China, which translates to – "Study hard and make progress everyday".
