Consul General Zha Liyou meets with Indian Acupuncturists

On September 19, 2019, Consul General Zha Liyou and his wife Zheng Huiqun met in the residence with 8 Indian acupuncturists headed by Dr. M. Gantait, Chairman of Dr. Dwarkanath Kotnis Memorial Committee of West Bengal and Chairman of the Indian Acupuncture Association, Dr. B. Bhattacharya, Secretary-General of the Indian Acupuncture Association, Dr. Shyamal Ghosh, Secretary-General of Dr. Dwarkanath Kotnis Memorial Committee and Dr. H. Samanta, Director of Dr. B.K. Basu Memorial Research & Training Institute of Acupuncture, Government of West Bengal.

Consul General Zha Liyou highly appreciated Dr. Dwarkanath Kotnis Memorial Committee of West Bengal and the Indian Acupuncture Association led by Dr. M. Gantait for their long time efforts in the promotion of Sino-Indian friendship and in the dissemination of Chinese traditional culture. Consul General Zha also exchanged views with the Indian acupuncturists on the role of Dr.Dwarkanath Kotnis Memorial Committee in contemporary China-Indian relationship, collaboration with Hebei Province in acupuncture training, the mechanism building of the Indian Acupuncture Association, cooperation with relevant Chinese professional institutions as well as promoting the commemoration of Dr. B.K.Basu.

Consul General Zha also answered questions of the acupuncturists about public health reform in China and facts of Hong Kong issue.

Consul Chen Shumi and Consul Zhao Yuqing attended the meeting.
