Consul General Zha Liyou met Chinese and Indian Teachers

Consul General Zha Liyou along with his wife Ms. Zheng Huiqun met with teachers of Kunming No. 8 middle school and Mahadevi Birla World Academy on July 26.

Consul General Zha Liyou welcomed all the teachers and introduced the main duties of Chinese Consulate and recent exchanges between China and East India. He mentioned Kunming and Kolkata were sister cities and recent years have witnessed more and more exchanges and cooperation between the two sides. It’s encouraging that exchange programs between Kunming No. 8 middle school and Mahadevi Birla World Academy have been successful, and it’s hoped the two sides would continue to work hard to improve exchange programs and add impetus to people-to-people exchanges between China and India.

Both Mr. Yang Zongwu, Party Secretary of Kunming No. 8 middle school and Ms. Nupur Ghosh, Vice Principal of Mahadevi Birla World Academy thanked Consul General Zha Liyou for his warm invitation and introduced exchange programs which they believed not only improved students' ability comprehensively, but also enhanced mutual understandings of culture of both sides. They expressed willingness to maintain close contact with Chinese Consulate and further promote education exchanges between China and India.

The exchange programs between the two schools started in 2018. This year from July 20th to 28th, teachers and students from Kunming No.8 middle school visited Mahadevi Birla World Academy, and various activities were carried out such as yoga, tie-dyeing, painting and calligraphy. On July 25, Deputy Consul General Yu Xiong went to Birla World Academy to see talent shows of Chinese and Indian students and wished them a meaningful and fruitful trip.
