Consul General Zha Liyou Visits State of Odisha, India

From July 20 to 23, 2019, Consul General Zha Liyou and his wife Zheng Huiqun visited Bhubaneshwar of State of Odisha, India.

Mr Zha met with Chief Secretary Mr Aditya Prasad Padhi, MP and Odissi Dance Artist Ms Sonal Mansingh, MP Mr Achyuta Samanta, Tourism and Culture Minister Mr Jyoti Prakash Panigrahi, Tourism and Culture Secretary Mr Vishal Kumar Dev, BJD General Secretary Mr Priyadarshi Mishra, Principal Secretary of Industries Department Mr Sanjeev Chopra, Vice Chairman of Higher Education Council Mr Ashok Kumar Das, and had in-depth exchanges with them on economic and social development of the state and its engagements with China in various fields.

He also visited Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) and Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) founded by MP Mr Achyuta Samanta, as well as SAI International School and ODM Public School, and met with local entrepreneurs, media and overseas Chinese representatives and listened to their suggestions on furthering relationship between Odisha and China.

The Consul General was also invited by Mrs Rosalin Patasani Mishra, President of Parichay Foundation, to attend the Shri Awards Ceremony held by the Foundation for awarding outstanding individuals from all walks of life in Odisha. He also visited Kalahanga and Raghurajpur villages affected by Cyclone Fani, participated in tree planting and donated fund to help them carry out reconstruction work.
