Consul General Zha Liyou Meets with Chairman of MCCI

On May 22, Consul General in Kolkata met with Vishal Jhajharia, Chairman of the Merchants' Chamber of Commerce and Industry and his teams and exchanged views on strengthening cooperation between MCCI and China.

Mr Zha Liyou appreciated the efforts of MCCI to promote Sino-Indian economic and trade exchanges, and introduced achievements of the Second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation. The Consul General invited MCCI to participate in the Second China-South Asia Cooperation Forum and China International Import Expo, and said that the Consulate General will vigorously promote pragmatic cooperation between Chinese enterprises and MCCI in Kolkata.

Mr Jaghariyah introduced the development of exchanges between the Chamber and China and said that he would consider organizing delegations to participate in the above-mentioned forums. He hoped to maintain a close contact with the Consulate General to jointly promote economic and trade exchanges between West Bengal, Eastern India and China.

Ramesh Agarwal, former chairman of the Chamber, Mahesh Keyal, chairman of trade committee, Taranjit Sing, chairman of JIS Group, and Zheng Huiqun, wife of the Consul General, attended the meeting.
