Consul General Ma Zhanwu Meets Chief Secretary of Odisha, India

Mr. Ma Zhanwu, Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Kolkata,  met with Mr. Aditya Prasad Padhi, Chief Secretary of the State Government of Odisha, in Bhubaneswar, India on 9 February 2018.

Mr. Ma said that China's economic interactions with Odisha are growing along with the overall development of ties between China and India, and the potentials for further progress is huge.  He therefore invited  the Chief Minister and the Chief Secretary of Odisha to lead delegations to China and  expand the state's relations with Fujian, Yunnan and other provinces in his country. The Consul General also told Mr. Padhi that his consulate stands ready to assist in the development of relations between China and Odisha.

Chief Secretary  Padhi welcomed Consul General Ma's visit and indicated that Odisha would like to have strong ties with China, especially more investment by Chinese companies. He said that he and his colleagues would keep in contact with the Consulate regaring the suggestions made by Mr. Ma and work with the Consul General to further develop  interactions between his state and Chinese provinces.

Later,  Mr. Ma briefed the local journalists on his interactions with Mr. Padhi and shared his views on future ties between China and Odisha. Several media houses including Zee TV and Kalinga TV were present.

Consular Attache Liu Li and Mr. Chen Guangning were present at the meeting.
