Consul General Ma Zhanwu Meets CM of West Bengal, India

Mr. Ma Zhanwu, Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Kolkata, met with Ms. Mamata Banerjee, Chief Minister of West Bengal, India during the Bengal Global Business Summit held in Kolkata from 16 to 17 January 2018.

Mr. Ma congratulated the latter on the successful holding of BGBS and told the Chief Minister that China attached great importance to its exchanges and cooperation with Bengal in the economic, trade, cultural, educational and other fields, and three provinces from China had sent business delegations to the Summit. He also expressed the hope that China's interactions with the state could grow in an in-depth way with joint efforts in the comings months and years.

Chief Minister Banerjee expressed her welcome to the Chinese delegations participating in the BGBS, and said she expected further development of her state's exchanges and cooperation with China in the new year.

Mr. Amit Mitra, Minister of Excise, Finance, Commerce & Industries, Industrial Reconstruction, Public Enterprise; and Consul Li Suyun were present at the meeting.
