Consul General Ma Zhanwu Meets Guangdong Delegation

Mr. Ma Zhanwu, Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Kolkata, met with Mr. Lin Xiong, Vice Chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Guangdong Committee, at his residence on 17 November 2017. Vice Consul General Cai Zhifeng, Vice Consul Gao Xiang; Mr. Qiu Zhaoxian, Vice President of CCPIT Guangdong Branch; and Mr. Shen Meihong, Deputy Inspector of CCPIT Guangdong Branch were present.

Mr. Lin Xiong said that, business people from Guangdong believe in the potentials of the Indian market and more and more of them are coming to India to conduct mutually beneficial cooperation with their Indian partners.

Mr. Ma gave a briefing on Eastern India’s economic, social developments, business environment, and said that, the economic and commercial ties between Eastern India and Guangdong have been growing fast over the years. A good part of the goods sold in the so-called China Bazar in Kolkata are imported from China. VIVO, OPPO, Yiheyuan and other Guangdong companies has operated in Eastern India for several years. The Chinese Consulate General will continue to provide assistance for exchanges and cooperation between Guangdong and Eastern India.

Earlier in the day, Consul General Ma also joined Mr. Lin Rong in his meeting with the Mr. S. Kishore, Principal Secretary of Department of Industry, Commerce & Enterprises of West Bengal.
