Chinese Consulate Kolkata Holds National Day Reception

The Consulate General of the People's Republic of China (PRC) in Kolkata held a reception to celebrate the 68th anniversary of founding of PRC on 22 September 2017.

Close to 500 people from all walks of life in the region were present, including Mr. Subrata Mukherjee, Minster of Public Health Engineering and Minister of Panchayat and Rural Development of the State Government of West Bengal, Mr. Sadhan Pande, Minster of Consumer Affairs and Minister of Self Help Group and Self Employment,Mr. S. A. Baba, Principal Secretary of Youth and Sports Development of the State Government,  Mr. Dinesh Trivedi, MP of the Indian Lok Sabha, Madam Krishna Bose, former Chairperson of the Standing Committee on External Affairs of the Indian Lok Sabha, Mr. Manmeet Singh Goindi, Director of East Region of the Indian Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.

Consul General Ma Zhanwu delivered a speech in English and spoke about the developments in China, the bilateral relationship between China and India as well as the exchanges and cooperation between China and Eastern India.

   

The honored guests spoke highly of the developments in China and the work by the Chinese Consulate in Kolkata.

   

Three musicians from China gave a performance of traditional Chinese music instruments.

Reporters from both China and India were present to cover the event.
