Consul General Ma Zhanwu Meets ICC Director General

Mr. Ma Zhanwu, Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Kolkata, met with Dr. Rajeev Singh, Director General of Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC), at his residence on 1 June 2017. Consul Dou Aidong, Vice Consul Gao Xiang and Ms Madhuparna Bhowmick, Additional Director of ICC, were present.

Dr. Singh gave a briefing on the Horasis Asia Meeting to Mr. Ma, saying it will be held in Kolkata in November this year, and it is hoped the Chinese Consulate General could recommend Chinese officials and scholars to participate in this meeting.

Mr. Ma said that the Chinese Consulate General will transmit the information about the Horasis Asia Meeting to the relevant authorities in China, and encourage participation in the Horasis Asia Meeting. Mr. Ma hoped ICC would play a bigger role in promoting province-state exchanges between China and India, especially in the agriculture-related areas. He suggested that ICC could organize a delegation to visit China. He also said that the Chinese Consulate General will continue to assist the economic exchanges between China and India.
