Consul General Mr Zha Liyou met in his residence with Mr Asok Bhattacharya, Mayor of Siliguri, West Bengal on 30 January. Consul Xie Chao was present.

Mr Bhattacharya welcomed Mr Zha Liyou on assuming office, introduced on development of Siliguri and his experience of visting China for four times, and expected the Chinese consulate to help strengthen ties between Siliguri and cities of China in business, tourism, sports, urban governance, and other fields.

Mr Zha Liyou appreciated what Mr Bhattacharya shared with him, and said it is this consulate's mission to push forward the relationship between China and Eastern India, and he would be happy to stay in close contact with the mayor with regard to means of promoting mutually beneficial cooperations between cities of China and Siliguri.
