Wang Qishan Meets Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn of Thailand

On September 30, Vice President Wang Qishan met with Maha Chakri Sirindhorn of Thailand at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing.

Wang Qishan said that yesterday President Xi Jinping awarded Princess Sirindhorn the Friendship Medal, the highest foreign-related honor in China. This medal represents the acknowledgment by the Chinese government and people of the significant contribution made by the princess to the friendship between China and Thailand, and is also an important manifestation of the close relationship between the two countries. As the Princess often visits China, she is able to tell the story about Thailand, and learn the story about China. China cherishes its traditional friendship with Thailand and the Thai royal family. China is willing to continue high-level exchanges with Thailand, strengthen exchanges and cooperation in various fields, so as to bring more benefits to the people of the two countries.

Sirindhorn warmly congratulated China on the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, and expressed gratitude to the Chinese side for awarding her the Friendship Medal. Sirindhorn said, the Thai royal family values and actively supports the development of Thai-Chinese relations, and is willing to continue to promote the Thai-Chinese friendship and pragmatic cooperation.
